Saaro Health
Comparison

A Healthray alternative for clinics that want an EMR, not a hospital system.

Healthray positions itself as hospital management software with a broad module list, and it publishes a great deal of material about clinic software in India. Saaro Health is an OPD EMR built around the patient's WhatsApp thread. This page compares the two on what they do, not on what they write.

Choose Healthray if

  • You run a hospital or a nursing home and need inpatient, operation theatre and ward modules alongside OPD.
  • You want a broad module catalogue from one vendor and are prepared to configure the parts you use.
  • You value a vendor with longer market tenure and a hospital-style implementation practice.
  • Your patient follow-up is light and a bundled WhatsApp layer would not change your month.

Choose Saaro Health if

  • You are an OPD clinic or chain and want a product sized to that, with setup typically within a day and no implementation project.
  • You want prescriptions, reminders, reports and refills sent from your clinic's own WhatsApp number on infrastructure the vendor owns, with messaging bundled.
  • You dictate in Hindi and English and want structured prescriptions with interaction checks and AI consult notes.
  • You want AI follow-up flows for no-shows, chronic care, refills and reviews running without staff effort.
  • You want one patient record across locations, GST billing and ABDM consent artefacts, hosted in India.

Honest view

Where Healthray is the better choice.

If you have beds, Healthray is in the right category and Saaro is not. Admission, ward management, operation theatre scheduling and discharge are hospital workflows, and Healthray offers them alongside OPD. Saaro is an outpatient product and does not offer inpatient modules at all.

Healthray's module catalogue is broad, and for an organisation that wants one vendor for OPD, IPD, lab, pharmacy, inventory and reporting, that breadth is the point. Saaro's feature set is deliberately narrow: records, prescriptions, WhatsApp follow-up, billing, clinic-scale lab and pharmacy, ABDM. If your list of requirements is long and hospital-shaped, Healthray will tick more boxes.

Healthray has also been in the market longer, and its material on clinic software is widely read. Tenure and a mature implementation practice are real advantages for an organisation that expects a project rather than a setup call.

Switching

What switching from Healthray involves.

Clinics that move from Healthray to Saaro are usually OPD centres using a small part of a hospital system. The move carries outpatient data — patients, visits, prescriptions, reports, invoices and future appointments — into Saaro. Inpatient records, if any, stay where they are. Setup is typically within a day and migration from another EMR is typically about two days.

The daily difference is the patient side. On Saaro, the prescription, the report, the follow-up date and the refill nudge go to WhatsApp from your clinic's own Business number on SaroConnect, Lumotis's own WhatsApp Business Solution Provider infrastructure. There is no third-party BSP in the chain, messaging is bundled into the plan rather than metered, and there is no external template-approval queue when you change what a message says.

ABHA IDs carry across where you have them. Saaro stores ABDM consent artefacts in the record and pushes FHIR records where the patient has consented. Data is hosted in India, in the Mumbai region, with role-based access and an audit trail for DPDP Act 2023 readiness.

Expect fewer screens and fewer settings. The front desk sees appointments, billing and the WhatsApp thread; the doctor sees the record, the dictated prescription and the consult note. If you were using a module Saaro does not have, we will tell you on the demo call rather than after you have moved.

  • Patients, visits, prescriptions, reports, OPD billing and future appointments are the data types we move.
  • Your existing WhatsApp Business number is verified on SaroConnect during setup.
  • Specialty templates are loaded on the demo call, before migration starts.
Migration

Export, map, import, verify.

  1. 01Day 1

    Export

You export outpatient data from Healthray: patients, visits, prescriptions, reports and OPD invoices. We send a checklist of which exports to run.

  2. 02Day 1

    Map

We map Healthray's fields to Saaro's, set aside inpatient-only fields with your agreement, and confirm anything ambiguous.

  3. 03Day 2

    Import

Records are imported into your Saaro workspace. Duplicates are merged on phone number and name, with a merge list for review.

  4. 04Day 2

    Verify

You spot-check a sample, run one OPD session in parallel, and sign off. Healthray stays read-only until you are sure.

Your questions answered.

The things clinics ask first.

Outpatient data Healthray exports — patients, visits, prescriptions, reports and OPD invoices — is imported and verified against a sample before sign-off. Inpatient records are outside Saaro's scope and stay in Healthray; we say so before import.

Setup is typically within a day and migration typically about two days: export and mapping on day 1, import and verification on day 2. Large report archives can add time, and we tell you after seeing the export.

Yes. Your clinic's WhatsApp Business number is verified on SaroConnect, our own WhatsApp infrastructure, so patients keep the same thread and clinic name. Each location can have its own number or share one.

Saaro's Solo plan is ₹1,499 per clinic per month, the Clinic plan for 2–5 doctors is ₹3,999, and the Chain plan for 6–50 locations is on call. All are billed annually, exclude GST, and include setup, migration and patient messaging. Healthray's own terms are between you and Healthray.

Yes. Run Saaro as the working OPD system for about a week with Healthray open read-only, compare a few patients a day, and cut over when the front desk and doctors are comfortable.
