Every visit has numbers for each eye, and the numbers only matter as a trend.

An eye OPD produces structured data at every step: acuity on the chart, pressure from the tonometer, refraction from the optometrist, and the fundus finding. In a general EMR these become free text, and the glaucoma patient's IOP over two years is somewhere in a paragraph. The spectacle prescription is written on a slip for the optical shop and never sees the record.

Saaro's ophthalmology template records acuity, IOP, refraction and fundus findings as fields per eye, so the trend is a chart, not a search. The spectacle prescription is its own document, printed for the optician and sent on WhatsApp, distinct from the drug prescription. Cataract surgery has a pre-op checklist and a post-op drop taper that the patient actually follows because it arrives on their phone each week.

Follow-up reminders for glaucoma reviews, diabetic retinopathy screening and post-op checks go from your clinic's number on SaroConnect, our own messaging infrastructure.

What an eye clinic gets

Built for two eyes, structured numbers and long tapers.

In the product

Three visits, three pressures, one glance.

Open a glaucoma patient's record and the IOP for each eye is a trend across visits, next to the acuity and the current drops. You see whether the treatment is working without paging through notes.

Surgery, IOL details and the post-op taper sit on the same timeline, so the patient's whole eye history is in one place.

  • IOP and acuity trends per eye
  • IOL model and power recorded at surgery
  • Drop taper visible against each week

Setup

Three days to a clinic where the numbers land in the right field.

  1. 01Day 1

    Templates

We load the ophthalmology template: per-eye examination fields, your drop favourites and standard tapers, cataract pre-op checklist and post-op instruction sets in Hindi and English, spectacle prescription format, your procedure and optical price list, and your clinic's WhatsApp number.

  2. 02Day 2

    Migration

Patients, visit history, prescriptions, examination values and surgical notes come across from your current software. Where values were free text, they are mapped to fields as far as the data allows. Typically about two days.

  3. 03Day 3

    Live

You run a normal OPD. The optometrist enters refraction, you record findings per eye, spectacle and drug prescriptions go out separately, and tomorrow's review reminders fire that evening.

Priced by clinic, with the ophthalmology template included.

Your questions answered.

The things clinics ask first.

As fields per eye at each visit. That is what makes the trend chart possible, and it is why the glaucoma review or the diabetic screening reminder can be tied to a value rather than a note.

Yes. It is its own document with sphere, cylinder, axis, add and PD per eye, printed for the optician and sent on WhatsApp. The drug prescription is a separate structured document with interaction checks.

As a weekly message on WhatsApp from your clinic's number on SaroConnect, our own infrastructure, stating which drop, which eye and how often for that week. The review date reminder is queued from the surgery date.

Yes. Role-based access lets an optometrist record examination values and refraction in the visit while clinical notes stay with the doctor. Every entry is in the audit trail.

Yes. Consultation and procedure lines and optical goods sit on one invoice series, each line with its own GST treatment, and reports separate services from goods for your accountant.

Yes. IOL model, power and lot are recorded against the procedure in the patient's record and stay searchable.
